Joshua Lamberg

CEO and Founder

Josh Lamberg is the founder and CEO of Lamb Insurance Services, the nation’s largest insurance broker dedicated exclusively to social service organizations. Prior to founding Lamb Insurance Services, he worked for insurance carriers- Philadelphia Insurance Companies and Liberty Mutual. Before starting his career in the insurance industry, Josh had a short career as a professional baseball player; a catcher with several different teams including a short minor league stint with the Cincinnati Reds organization.

The values and ethics that created his success as a professional athlete are the foundation of the character embraced by every Lamb employee. Attitude, Effort, and Preparation are the core elements of his company’s success. Grit, relentless drive, and continuous improvement are Lamb’s best practices.

Josh is a graduate of the University of Richmond with a degree in Rhetoric and Communications.

Charles Alexander

President

As President, Charles is responsible for day-to-day operations at Lamb as well as working with the Lamb Senior Leadership Team to help shape the company’s strategies, financial outcomes, and the customer experience we deliver. In addition, Charles serves as the company’s General Counsel to ensure our legal affairs are handled in a way that is fair and efficient for our company, our partners, and our nationwide base of clients.

Daniel Heller

Chief Financial Officer

Dan comes to Lamb Insurance Services with two decades of experience in Technology and Finance. Prior to joining the team, Dan was Vice President of Acquisitions at Diamond Equity Partners, LLC. There he built the acquisitions group from the ground floor, and served as an integral part of operations for the portfolio, including marketing, finance, accounting, and business development duties. Prior to his work at Diamond Equity Partners, LLC, Dan was an Associate in the Acquisitions Group at RAF Industries, Inc and spent ten years working in investment banking.

Dan received a B.S. in Finance, and a B.A. in Marketing from Lehigh University, and an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School.

Dave Fitzgerald

Chief Human Resources Officer

Dave brings over 20 years of management, leadership and human resources experience to Lamb Insurance Services. Prior experience includes Head of HR at Aon, Canada; Senior Strategic HR Leader at Xerox, Prudential and Intel.

Dave’s responsibilities have included being an integral part of the internal development of Human Resources, succession plans, Human Capital Strategy and performance management programs. He is a retired Colonel, United States Army and has received numerous commendations for leadership, to include the covenant Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal.

Dave has a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences, from California Polytechnic University and a Master’s in Strategic Studies, from United States Army War College as well as HRLR Certification from Cornell University.

Salvatore V. Abano

Global Chief Information Officer

Sal joins Lamb with over 30 years of Technology and Insurance experience having multiple roles as Global Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer and other senior leadership and management positions for Convelo Insurance Group, Hiscox Insurance, Argo Group International, Tower Group International, QBE the Americas, Kemper Insurance, Munich Re America and AIG. Sal specializes in IT Strategy, Business Transformation, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Data Management, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Governance.

In addition to his corporate experience, Sal completed a 24-month overseas tour of duty with the United States Army as Chief Technology Officer, Military and Technology Operations, in Operation Iraqi Freedom III. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge among other prestigious awards during his career; he is now retired military officer with over 26 years of service in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army reserves.

Sal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from Brooklyn College - The City University of New York, a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Regis University, and executive certifications from Harvard Business School and MIT – Sloan School of Management.

COREY heller

President of Employee Benefits

Corey serves as the President of Employee Benefits at Lamb Insurance Services. He is responsible for the day-to-day consulting services the firm provides to its clients, the development of strategic initiatives, and leading new business production. Corey has spoken, and presented to numerous audiences on health and welfare related subjects such as; alternative funding strategies, healthcare reform, emerging benefits and HR trends, and the role of technology and I.T. in developing a complete benefit portfolio. Prior to joining Lamb Insurance Services, Corey worked for AXA Advisors as the VP of Employee Benefits responsible for mid-market sized accounts.

Corey is a graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in Finance. He is licensed in Health, Life and Accident in multiple states.

Eric Smith

Director of Operations

Eric joined Lamb with over 20 years of insurance experience with extensive experience in underwriting, reinsurance, marketing, policy services, risk management and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining the Lamb team, Mr. Smith held senior management positions at several large managing general agencies where he had responsibilities for program development, operations and underwriting. Eric has also held the title of Chief Underwriting Officer for two insurance carriers. At Lamb, Mr. Smith holds the position of Director of Operations where he oversees the daily operation of our Property & Casualty service team.

Eric holds a BA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia.

Mitch Sacks

Head of Claims & Loss Control

Mitch brings over 30 years of Insurance Claims & Operations experience to Lamb Insurance Services. Mitch's role as Head of Claims & Loss Control is to oversee and develop Claims Advocacy & Loss Control Services in order to support the firms' growing national client base across all Lines of Business.

Most recently Mitch was responsible for Claim Performance Development at ACE Overseas General Insurance Company and oversaw the ACE & Chubb Insurance merger of the International Claim organization. Previously, Mitch was the International Claims Operations & Systems Executive for American International Underwriters, (AIU) and while based in Chicago with was a Senior member of KPMG's (BearingPoint) Insurance Management Consulting Practice as well as Director, AVP of Global Accounts for Crawford & Company.

He has a BA in Political Science & International Studies from the College of New Jersey.

Steve Phillabaum

Regional Sales Manager

Steve is Lamb’s Regional Sales Manager and is responsible for leading our relentless drive to implement comprehensive risk management strategies for our new clients. Prior to joining Lamb Insurance Services, he led Navy engineering, operations, and anti-terrorism teams during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was responsible for immediate conflict engagement and point defense of strategic infrastructure in the Northern Arabian Gulf. Steve also spent several years working for Datalogic Industrial Automation, a world leader in the material handling industry. He advanced through technical and managerial positions in finance, engineering, new product development, and project management. Steve is a published author on risk management issues, and serves on the board of several community and veteran organizations.

Steve is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he played NCAA Division I Water Polo and received his MBA from Saint Joseph’s University’s Erivan K. Haub School of Business.

Michael Lamberg

Regional Sales Manager

Michael joined Lamb Insurance Services in 2013. Michael oversees business development for New York and surrounding areas. Prior to joining the Lamb team, Michael spent 8 years at Thomson Reuters as a valued member of the Corporate Services Group where he was responsible for providing stock market advisory research for publicly traded companies. In addition to his knowledge and understanding of insurance products designed to help social service organizations, Michael is an expert in our Workers Compensation offerings here at Lamb Insurance Services.

Michael earned his BA from Syracuse University and his Masters (Cum Laude) from New York University.
